Children of all ages eat and grow best (and do best in all ways), when they have predictable family meals.

Meals go best when parents maintain a division of responsibility in feeding:

  • Parents do the what, when and where of feeding

  • Children do the how much and whether of eating, from what parents offer.

Children need to go to meals hungry, but not starved. Children need sit-down snacks between meals, but letting them graze for food or drinks (except water) spoils meals

EATING...

is more than deciding what and how much to eat.

FEEDING...

is more than choosing food and getting it into a child.

EATING AND FEEDING...

reflects people’s histories, their relationships with themselves and with others.

FEEDING A CHILD...

is about the connection between parent and child, about trusting or controlling, about providing or neglecting, about accepting or rejecting.

EATING...

is about the connection with our bodies and with life itself.

EATING CAN BE JOYFUL...

full of zest and vitality

OR EATING CAN BE FEARFUL...

bound by control or avoidance

MY MISSION...

is to help you and your children be joyful and competent with eating!
